LIQUID CALCIUM CHLORIDE

LIQUID CALCIUM CHLORIDE is designed to meet a broad range of needs for a variety of customers. Liquid Calcium chloride is a odorless, colorless, and non-flammable liquid which is environmentally friendly and is NOT regarded as a “hazardous material”. Certain concentrations are available to enhance the performance for various operating conditions. Winter deicing, anti-icing, dust control, refrigeration, redi-mix concrete and more. With results to minus 59 degrees, Liquid Calcium is required and used as the “Premium” and most cost effective De-icer used by most highway departments throughout the Country.

REFRIGERATION - Liquid Calcium Chloride brines have an extremely low freezing point (as low as -59°F ) which is used as a economical refrigerant for large quantities in many types of industry.

ROAD BASE STABILIZATION - Road-building contractors use calcium chloride to enhance road base stability for new roads and for asphalt reclamation of older roads

Calcium chloride-accelerated cement can be used for flatwork or walls, in cold or warm weather, whenever a faster set is desired.

PETROLEUM - Liquid Calcium Chloride increases density and reduces shale swelling in drilling applications.

DE-ICING- Proven year after year, Required by most states and highway departments throughout the country as the “Premium” and most cost effective liquid for winter deicing and winter road maintenance.

Liquid Calcium Chloride is a pure (not a blend) product, that has the lowest freezing point of any other liquid deicer or blend. With an extremely low freezing point of -59 degrees, a Liquid Calcium Chloride application is much greater to withstand dilution (from melting ice and snow) and will still perform, and remain effective much longer than other liquid deicers or blends with higher freezing points. This results in fewer applications with long lasting continued performance.

In conjunction with rock salt and sand, Liquid Calcium Chloride as a wetting agent, far surpasses any other process in keeping our roads dryer and safer in the most cost effective, economical way possible..

ANTI-ICING - A pre-wetting application of Liquid Calcium Chloride before the snow or ice arrives to form a barrier to prevent it from bonding to the road surface. The practice of anti-icing involves the application of a very thin layer of calcium chloride prior to a snow or ice storm. Liquid calcium chloride inhibits the bonding of snow or ice to the pavement, making it easier for road crews to clean roads down to pavement. An economical way of de-icing roadways maximizing results down to -59 degrees and out performs any and all blends.

DUST CONTROL—Liquid Calcium Chloride is the most effective way of controlling dust since it has a great affinity for moisture for a prolonged period of time. When applied to a dirt road or quarry field, it will both stabilize the road as well as bind the small particles of dust together. Liquid Calcium Chloride will continue to attract and absorb moisture from the air as well as resisting evaporation keeping the roadway damp and dust free. Unlike water, which evaporates quickly on hot days, Liquid Calcium Chloride can keep the roadway damp for extended periods of time. This type of application will reduce your operating costs of frequent water treatments.

ROAD BASE STABILIZATION - Road-building contractors use calcium chloride to enhance road base stability for new roads and for asphalt reclamation of older roads. It allows greater density, surface uniformity and helps maintain optimum moisture content. When applied to a unpaved roadway, Liquid Calcium Chloride combines the aggregate and dirt particles into a solid base improving the compaction of soil and preventing erosion, suppression and dust.

ASPHALT  RECLAMATION - Improves absorption of bituminous materials. Priming materials are easily absorbed and bonding is improved.

READY-MIX CONCRETE - Liquid Calcium Chloride is the most economical and effective way of accelerating the setting time of concrete for cold weather conditions. Calcium chloride-accelerated cement can be used for flatwork or walls, in cold or warm weather, whenever a faster set is desired.

TIRE WEIGHTING - Liquid calcium chloride is used to improve the traction of tractor and construction vehicles. It increases Drawbar pull, reduces tire wear, and reduces stress on other vehicle components. Liquid calcium Chloride is placed inside tires of farm tractors and construction vehicles to add weight, which improves ballast and traction.

PETROLEUM - Liquid Calcium Chloride increases density and reduces shale swelling in drilling applications.

WASTE WATER TREATMENT - Liquid Calcium Chloride breaks up oil and water emulsions and removes fluorides.

COAL / ORE PREPARATION - Lowers freezing point of moisture containing solids to prevent lumping.

LIQUID MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE

LIQUID MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE

LIQUID MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE Similar to Calcium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride is used for De-icing, Anti-icing, and Dust Control with results to -28 degrees. Available with optional inhibitors that can reduce the corrosion on equipment and maintenance costs compared to other blended liquid de-icers.

DE-ICING - Liquid Magnesium Chloride is widely used for effective winter road maintenance. As a wetting agent, Liquid Magnesium Chloride, in conjunction with rock salt and sand, create an effective and economic way of de-icing roadways. Maximizing results down to -28° F, and used by many towns to keep our winter roads dryer and safe..

ANTI-ICING - A pre-wetting application of Liquid Magnesium Chloride before the snow or ice arrives to form a barrier to prevent it from bonding to the road surface. The practice of anti-icing involves the application of a thin layer of Liquid Magnesium Chloride (sometimes blended with beet juice) prior to a snow or ice storm. Liquid Magnesium Chloride inhibits the bonding of snow or ice to the pavement, making it easier for road crews to clean roads down to pavement. An economical way of de-icing roadways maximizing results down to -28 degrees and out performs any and all blends.

DRY CALCIUM CHLORIDE

Dry Calcium chloride (FLAKE OR PELLETS) - are used to prevent ice formation and is used to deice driveways, walk ways and can cover a large surface area.

Dry Calcium chloride (FLAKE OR PELLETS) - are used to prevent ice formation and is used to deice driveways, walk ways and can cover a large surface area. Available in flakes or pellets, both work very well with ice melt spreaders. Calcium chloride is relatively harmless to plants and soil.

As a deicing agent, it is more effective at lower temperatures than sodium chloride. Dry Calcium chloride is cost effective and reduces the amount of labor required to keep unpaved surfaces for dust management.

Setcon Industries provides Dry Calcium chloride in 25lb, 50lb, 100lb bags, drums, pallet and truck load quantities.

SPRAY AND MELT
- (Liquid Calcium Chloride, not a blend)

SPRAY AND MELT in NJ

A “ready to use” product designed and packaged on a smaller scale for anti-icing or de-icing sidewalks, driveways, and walkways. Packaged in convenient 5 gallon pails with pour spouts, most commonly used in pump sprayers or other desired application.

-Pretreat area before snowfall to keep snow and ice from bonding to surfaces.

(1 gallon per 800 to 1000 sq. ft.)

-Use as a wetting agent to drastically extend and increase the effectiveness of “Dry” ice melting products, such as Rock Salt or Blends. (1/2 gallon per 100 lbs.)
